The team of students from XXI High School of B. Prus in Łódź is pleased to invite esteemed guests and the wonderful audience of high school students from Łódź secondary schools to the 2.1 Conference. This is the second edition of last year’s event, during which we had the honor of hosting the current Minister of Justice, Prof. Adam Bodnar.
The event is divided into two parts. The first will be a meeting with the Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Monika Horna-Cieślak, which will take place on September 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the XXI High School.
The second part will be held at 52 Rewolucji 1905 roku st., thanks to the courtesy of the Board of the Institute of Creative Procedures (Instytut Postępowania Twórczego), who have kindly lent us their space.
During this part, there will be several meetings and discussions:
- An interview with Sophia, the humanoid robot from Hanson Robotics in Hong Kong.
- A panel discussion on AI featuring experts Tomasz Wolanowski and Dr. Dawid Misztal.
- A panel discussion with experts Magdalena Gałczyńska and Jakub Wiewiórski on the topic of modern media and their operations.
- A panel discussion with representatives of the main sponsor, PKO BP Bank.
- A panel discussion titled “Active Youth” with representatives from I High School of Mikołaj Kopernik in Łódź, III High School of Tadeusz Kościuszko in Łódź, XXI High School of Bolesław Prus in Łódź, and XXIX High School of Jan Bytnar “Rudy” in Łódź.
The primary goal driving us is the social activation of young people who aspire to be ambitious and conscious observers as well as creators of our reality. The rapid technological, social, and informational changes present new civilizational challenges, which they will face many times in the future, the beginnings of which we are already experiencing today.
Thanks to the courtesy and inspiration of our esteemed guests and experts, we aim to provoke intellectually engaging discussions that will offer an intergenerational perspective, allowing for the acquisition of valuable knowledge, exchange of judgments and opinions, and the formation of one’s own stance.
Special thanks go to Hanna Zdanowska, President of the City of Łódź, who took our event under her Honorary Patronage, as well as our sponsors: PKO Bank Polski (Main Sponsor), ABB, and the Meet and Code organization.
We would also like to warmly thank our partners, particularly Hanson Robotics for making the conversation with Sophia possible, the Institute of Creative Procedures (Instytut Postępowania Twórczego), Technotronik, the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Łódź, the EC1 Science and Technology Center, and the Kolorowo Foundation.
